It all started in 2019 at a Catfish and the Bottlemen concert, where fate (and some mutual friends) brought Charlie and Matt together. It was a last-minute plan for Charlie, who just happened to be free that evening—but as it turns out, some things are just meant to be.

For a while, they stayed distant friends until a chance encounter at a nightclub changed everything. That night, Charlie made quite the impression by dramatically pouring a drink over one of Matt’s friends. Somehow, that didn’t scare Matt away, and the two stayed in touch.

Fast forward to Charlie’s 21st birthday, right at the begining of lockdown. Determined to make her day special, Matt snuck out to deliver a birthday gift—something small, but meaningful. From that moment on, their story truly began.

Three years later, on a quiet morning at Charlie’s favorite childhood beach, Matt got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Her response? Well… let’s just say it was memorable.
